Upon completion of the sea-going Phase 2 of the scheme, the candidate should return for this course.

This course has a heavy practical element using the simulator systems. DP operations are studied in detail, including the planning and risk assessment. Scenarios are conducted involving students the students in the key DP roles.

An extensive variety of operational problems, system failures and environment conditions are simulated in order to train and assess competence.
