These courses are aimed at Electronic/Radio Officers, Electricians, and Engineers in DP vessels, i.e. those responsible for the maintenance of the DP and associated systems. These courses are fully approved by Kongsberg Maritime and Alstom, as appropriate.
These are key personnel. The costs of downtime for these vessels may be very high, and the presence of a properly trained competent and qualified technician may avert a possibly very expensive off-hire period.
The courses use live Kongsberg and Alstom systems. Training is predominantly hands-on, and covers routine maintenance together with front-line fault finding and repair. Special electronics are supplied to allow simulation of a wide variety of common and not-so-common faults.
