Introduction

This course is a stand-alone level 1 qualification, which complements the CIEH Foundation Health & Safety programme.

It is aimed at those who use substances hazardous to health at work and introduces students to the hazards associated with those substances, the risks and controls available and what to expect from a COSHH assessment. The course can be tailored to meet a company's particular needs.

Definition of types of substances harardous to health in the workplace
Health effects of hazardous substances and their causes
COSHH assessments and control options
Responsibilities inposed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations
There is a 20 question multiple choice assessment paper at the end of the course. On successful completion, delegates will be awarded a CIEH Certificate in the Principles of COSHH.
